Herman & Cheryl » Langley Engagement Photographer

The morning of the session it was raining pretty good and the weather forecast was quite bleak. But we decided to go for it anyway. And I am so glad we did.

Langley Engagement Photographer

I love the way he makes her laugh.

Langley Engagement Photography

I love how in love they are. There was no shortage of amazing photos of these two.

Langley Engagement Photographer

These two are so romantic and sweet.

The blanket was quilted by a dear friend.

Langley Engagement Photographer

The clouds started to roll in and suddenly it was hailing. Rain (or hail) makes for some beautiful photos.

Hands down. Favorite image. Probably ever.

Langley Engagement Photographer

Or maybe this one.

Langley Engagement Photographer

I really like the whole series. Beautiful people. God’s wonderful creation. And new love.

Langley Engagement Photographer

I hope you enjoyed your rather extensive sneak peek. I am thrilled to be photographing your wedding in just 2 months.

First Week of April » Aldergrove Family Photographer

Post #43 of personal project 52 weeks.

Week 43

* I use my waffle iron as a panini press.

* Aldergrove’s very own Milsean Coffee Shop serves up my favorite: sani bread. Art and I went there on a lunch date just after his surgery. I had shipped the kids to the sitter and so it worked very nicely to go out for lunch. The flexibility to go out for breakfast, lunch or dinner is one of the things I miss most about pre-baby life. Anyway, it is my goal to find out the CLOSEST possible recipe to making this delicious chicken and roasted red pepper sani bread at home and I think I’m close. Havarti cheese, chicken breast (real chicken breast, not deli-style) and roasted red pepper from a jar on 2 slices of light rye. Pop it in my ‘panini press’ and voila! The dipping sauce is the Rendezvous Greek Salad Dressing which can be purchased at Hamilton Foods or at Milsean. YUM! So I don’t normally buy rye bread or havarti cheese, so I’m still working on some alternate recipes that are as tasty with regular ingredients.

* These two are full of tickles and kisses. And more recently they have started beating on eachother. Sometimes it starts like this: with a headlock kiss.

* We are budding! Spring is late this year.

* Mattias and cousin Jaimee are thick like thieves.

* Nine months apart and Jaimee has no problem keeping up with her older cousin.

* I love a mid-afternoon cup of tea and treat.

* I was suckered into baking cookies that required decorating again. When will I learn? They were tasty and Noah decorated all of them.

Fourth Week of March » Aldergrove Family Photographer

Post #42 of personal project 52 weeks.

Aldergrove Family Photographer

* “I want draw. I want draw. I want draw.” he pleads every single time his eyes fall the container of crayons. Really. So that’s 15 times a day. Unless I hide the container. He has the attention span of a 2 year old. The he proceeds to color on every surface except his coloring book.

* Every single pair of jeans looks like this. I need to patch them and about 5 other pairs of his jeans. During the day, I fully intend to mend in the evening (I shudder at the idea of my boys near the sewing machine). Youtube must have a video on it, right? When evening comes, I’m tired or I would rather veg or I have other things to do. In a bit of rut-cycle.

* Mom and Dad L. unloaded the trailer. Noah was counting down the days until the infamous Lego would come out of the trailer. He required frequent reassurance that indeed the Lego was in the trailer and indeed there was more Lego in that trailer than he had every seen. So, on Saturday the trailer was unloaded. On Sunday, Noah invited himself over within seconds of seeing Opa and Oma at church. Then followed 5 days of agony, while Noah spent good portions of each day inventing scenarios that would allow him to visit Oma. “Mom, you go to Oma’s and talk and I will come and play with the cars.” As if mentioning Lego would make me suspicious of his intentions. On Friday, he was invited to sleepover. By himself. Initially he refused but several hours later he warmed up to the idea. The following morning I picked him up and he was in all his glory: playing playing playing. And running and shouting. Wound up and excited.

* Next week he turns 4. I can hardly believe it.

* Oh I pray that you never lose your spark and zest for life.

* Brotherly love.

* My neighbour needed to size the newsboy cap she crocheted. Isn’t it adorable?

* We have ourselves a hockey nut. He begs to go outside and play hockey. Which is awesome. But generally, I have to come and play hockey too. Not as awesome. He holds the stick like a pro and is pretty good at hitting the ball.

* Standing in the shower, mouth wide open and catching the water. This kid also has a zest for life but in a totally different way.

  • Laura - Those boys are adorable!ReplyCancel

  • Leona - Oh Karin! I just love these pics! Perhaps it’s also because everything looks so familiar to me now – Mattias with a hockey stick and ball almost all day long waiting for Cody to come home – Noah in his glory playing lego, i can imagine the thrill he had with all those lego men…that’s all he ever plays with here too! Two great, loveable guys – both unique in their own way.
and karin – I doubt Noah will ever lose his spark and zest for life 😉 He makes me laugh 😀ReplyCancel

  • sheree - Super cute pics! all i can say is WOW that is alot of Lego guys! and I’m so jealous 😛 So hard to pic a favorite this week. . .but i think that cute little boy in the adorable hat has beat out my childish love for lego. . .maybe.
I’m really going to miss these weekly posts when they’re gone 🙁ReplyCancel

  • Lindsay - I’m with Sheree…I love these posts and will miss them when they’re gone. It’s just a beautiful way to capture the day to day life and you manage to do it in such a creative and artistic way!ReplyCancel

Third Week of March » Aldergrove Family Photographer

Post #41 of personal project 52 weeks.

Aldergrove Family Photographer

* He’s telling us “what’s what”. Many have observed that he will make a good minister one day. This is in reference to his ability to tell you “what’s what” with passion, zeal and vigor. We pray that he will be as passionate about God as he currently is about Lego.

* Oh he can look so innocent.

* Surgery. March 11th. Pins taken out, a new plate put in, a new pin put in, a bone graft done from the wrist to the finger, a finger reset. Lots of drugs and rest for Art.

* Mattias usually wakes up instantly but he was in a deep sleep so I pulled out my camera.

* Both kids love their apples.

* Awake.

* Sideways drinker.

* Puppy is his pillow. He always sleeps on his tummy.

* This time everything was more: more pain, more crankiness, more fatigue. We are hoping it is worth it.

Hoping and praying that Art’s hand heals up quickly!ReplyCancel

Second Week of March » Aldergrove Family Photographer

Post #40 of personal project 52 weeks.

* It’s shameful. These are the only 2 photos I took this week. Mattias wrapped in the Noah’s Ark blanket. We were quarantined. We were cranky. We were tired.
