It’s a big group. Forty-five of them! The Schouten family celebrated a 60th birthday on the July long weekend and also a wedding. It was a wonderful sunny hot weekend filled with lots of family time and celebrations. Here they are!
Happy 1st Birthday to my sweet baby James! This is a pretty standard position for him – on his haunches.
And this is a standard pose for our ‘worker’, Mattias. He’s always leaning up against something.
Crawling between the kale plants with a big toothy smile.
Big moves on the trampoline.
Photo bombing his brother and friend.
These two buddies share a love for Lego.
Love those summer toes.
James is very vocal about what he likes and dislikes.
But he’s equally cute.
Baby toes.

Oh karin! Such sweet pictures! Seriously, Mattias is looking way too grown up here! He sure is changing! And James, what a mix of his brothers! I am looking so foward to babysitting your guys again…Mattias makes me laugh and I can’t wait to get to know James!
It’s been far too long since I’ve posted something here! Justin and Jackie enjoyed a beautiful warm day for their May wedding. Jackie was one of the most relaxed brides I’ve ever seen! And we had tons of time to hang out and take photos which made for a relaxing day for everyone.
Here are the photos!!!

GORGEOUS!
This is the third time that the Hansma family has been in front of my camera. I am thrilled that we had this fabulous sunshine, even if it was a little chilly out. I am also thrilled that she asked me to take photos of her family again, especially since it was a whirlwind trip back ‘home’ from Calgary for a wedding. Busy busy and she was able to squeeze in a session while here. I’m so glad it worked out. I took a lot of photos and had a REALLY hard time narrowing down which ones should make the cut.
If you want to see more of this family and their lives. Jessica is a gifted photographer and she is doing a weekly photo project that is fun to follow. Check it out!
We have done a session in fields and grass and pathways, we’ve done a cherry blossom session, so this year, Jessica wanted something vibrant and bright and a little more urban. Fort Langley was perfect for this kind of session. I liked the challenge of photographing in Fort Langley without going to the typical locations there. It’s a pretty town to wander around in and there are nooks and crannies around every corner.
Enjoy!

Such beautiful, fun photos. Love the pop of colour their clothing gives!
This was the engagement session that almost didn’t happen. It was beautiful and sunny in my little town of Aldergrove all day, so when Karen called, I immediately commented on the gorgeous weather and how we were going to FINALLY be able to do this session. Then Karen mentioned something about snow. That’s right. I was basking in my gorgeous beautiful sunny weather and a mere 30 km away, it had been snowing off and on all day. We were convinced that my weather was going her way, so we decided to give it a go. So glad we did.
These two just radiate joy and happiness. I’m pretty sure I smiled the whole time I was with them. Except when we walked over the train bridge. That was kind of if-fy. Our options (if the train came) were: RUN or duck under the train in a little alcove above the freezing cold rapids of the Vedder River. Let me tell you, my idea of adrenalin is running around the track a couple of time. Pretty sure my look was more a mixture of disbelief and panic.
We found some beautiful sunshine and pretty moss covered logs and green buds on the bushes and trees. I made them sit and lay on really cold river rocks and cuddle up together on the windy beach. I also made them hike down those boulders at the end of the session (last photos).
Thank you for a lovely time Will and Karen. Enjoy your photos! You were a true pleasure to get to know.
