Jaimee — One Photo » Newborn Photographer Abbotsford

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of spending quality time with my 8-day old niece, Jaimee.

The newborn stage is such a fleeting time. It is truly an honour to be invited to share these moments with new parents.

(Okay, it’s actually two photos. I couldn’t decide.)

Abbotsford Newborn Photographer

Ed & Joni, she is a precious gift from our Heavenly Father. May He give you what you need to raise her.

Mine » Aldergrove Lifestyle Photographer

Without a doubt, photographing my own children is my inspiration to being a photographer. My camera stays on top of my fridge, out of reach of preschool fingers, and nice and close for me to capture every day moments with my kids. Some months are better than others…

We’ve had some beautiful bright winter sunshine. The kind that streams into your house and makes you want to clean, bake, cook and all those other household chores. When the sun streams into my house, I am also encouraged to take tons of indoor photos.

All taken with my Canon 5D. Edited with Red Leaf Actions.

Recently had these photos printed. It’s three 11×17″ prints mounted on gator board and hung with 3m velcro strips – easy and doesn’t damage your walls!

My regret is that I didn’t print them larger. Not to worry, I have lots of walls in my house to fill!

  • Rachel - he is SOOOOOO cute Karin! Can’t believe how big he’s getting already. crawling? Where has the time gone? Love the shots of his feet, and him peeking over the tray. 🙂

PS Did you put up wainscotting in your dining area? Don’t remember seeing that before, but it looks good!ReplyCancel

    • Karin - Yes, we put up bead board wainscoting. I was terribly frustrated with the “wall acne” and this was the only way to control it! (haha!). I’m very happy with how it turned out.

[WORDPRESS HASHCASH] The poster sent us ‘0 which is not a hashcash value.ReplyCancel

Caldwell Family » Family Photograhy Edmonton

Last week we traveled to Edmonton to visit my in-laws… okay, technically St. Albert.

A friend from our prenatal class also moved out there last year and we had kept in touch. Our boys are the same age. One week apart. We booked a photo session for while I was out there.

Colleen, you look fabulous. And your daughter is adorable!

Edmonton Family Photographer

There’s definitely something to that whole three degrees of separation theory.

I had used the Google streetview feature to familiarize myself with their neighbourhood. (oh how I love technology). And when I showed the house to my husband, he told me that the previous owners were friends of the family. Good friends. Go on road trips together kind of friends.

Edmonton Family Photographer

This little corner of their home was fabulous with light. And BRRRR it was cold that day!

Edmonton Family Photographer

Life with 2 kids. Undeniably chaotic and so much fun. (…As all those with more than 2 kids snicker).

Edmonton Family Photographer

Jessica is motoring! And at the time of the session, almost walking.

Edmonton Family Photographer

Then we headed outside. Not joking. Cold. -17.

I’ve observed that absolutely everyone in Edmonton has a thermometer.

Edmonton Family Photographer

Here’s the little man, Jack. He is such a darling. It is really too bad that we don’t live closer Colleen, because I could see some good playdates.

Edmonton Family Photographer

Some yummy pink from sweet little Jessica.

Edmonton Family Photographer

And the whole family by the gorgeous tree… that still has leaves!

Edmonton Family Photographer

The kids were done. I mean freezing! But I’m so glad we got some of the 2 of you.

Edmonton Family Photographer

It was wonderful to see your growing family and touch base again!

McRae Family » Family Photographer South Surrey

Babies between 3 and 7 months are becoming a favorite age for me to photograph. And Grayden certainly didn’t disappoint me!

Grayden is 6 months. The chubs, the smiles, the tiny hands reaching for the tiny toes. What’s not to love?

We started the family session in the McRae home in South Surrey. The M family lives in a “BC Box” similar to our house except their house was professionally redesigned by Cityline. Ya. So nice! It’s always fun (for me) to see the inside of a renovated 70’s style split entry. So many good ideas especially when walls are removed.

South Surrey Family Portraiture Photography

Some tickles and giggles and bare feet and really wonderful bedding.

Grayden’s Room

Declan’s room. Declan has the coolest dad, he MADE the bed! And the closet organizer with the bench. Perfect for a 2 1/2 year old.

After some more photos in the home, we headed out to the park.

I guess this is the modern-day version of the merry-go-round.

South Surrey Family Portraiture Photography

We played some peak-a-boo!

South Surrey Family Portraiture Photography

We jumped.

South Surrey Family Portraiture Photography

We got the traditional family photos.

South Surrey Family Portraiture Photography

We got the McRae totem pole.

ISouth Surrey Family Portraiture Photography

We let Grayden explore some dirt.

South Surrey Family Portraiture Photography

We witnessed brotherly love.

South Surrey Family Portraiture Photography

And last but not least. He is so cute!

That’s all for now folks! Have a great weekend!

Lucas 2 months » Baby Photographer South Surrey

I met 10 week old Lucas on Saturday — along with his parents and their dog, Axil. What a content baby boy!

South Surrey Baby Photographer

He has the cutest roundest head. The glassy eyes of babies melt me. Especially Lucas’.

South Surrey Baby Photographer

Oh how I loved this hat on him. Blue is definitely his color. And those lips are perfect.

South Surrey Baby Photographer

This little hat was equally adorable. This is shot with the newest lens in my arsenal. The 70-200 2.8. I can’t tell even begin to tell you how much I adore this lens. Particularly outdoors. It has a ‘look’ that I was never able to achieve with my other lenses. The bokeh on it is nothing short of spectacular. I digress…

South Surrey Baby Photographer

Lucas had a short little break so we turned our attention to Axil. He performed beautifully. Not only that he loved the camera! I had a blast photographing him. Occasionally, he would bark at me unexpectedly which would scare the pants off of me. I’m not scared of dogs honest. Little Lucas slept right through each bark and didn’t even flinch while awake.

South Surrey Baby Photographer

Janelle, you are gorgeous.

South Surrey Baby Photographer

Lucas thought this pose was the best. He was punching his dad in the eye, grabbing hair and even hugging.

South Surrey Baby Photographer

The nursery was so beautifully decorated, I just HAVE to share.

South Surrey Baby Photographer

Besides photography, I have an obsession with interior design. I loved what they did with the nursery.

South Surrey Baby Photographer

South Surrey Baby Photographer

Thanks Janelle & Brian and Lucas for everything! I still can’t believe Axil kept spooking me. HA!
