* Whenever I am on the phone, he begs for the phone too. He’s talking to Oma L. here.
* Waffles. A favorite around here. Especially when served with fresh fruit and whipping cream.
* I love this shot. The light. His expression. And the fact that he’s pulling on the massive rip in his jeans. In my favorite pair of jeans for him. He’s been wearing them since he was 8 months or so. I just cuffed them. Now they fit him perfect and they have massive holes in the knees.
* More chit chat with Oma.
* Small boy in a long hallway.
* Noah and I were extremely ill this week. Beyond tired. Lethargic. Sore. Achy. Sinus congested. Fever. Coughing. Barely functioning. Noah would nap in the morning and then again in the afternoon and go to bed at regular time. We were miserable. There is nothing like a knock-you-off-your-feet sick to make me so incredibly thankful for good health. So humbling.
* The line-up of stuffies. Starting from the left: baby, raffy, puppy (pillow), puppy and horse. All named by Mattias. He loves them all equally and fiercely.
* It was Art’s birthday through the misery. I managed to bake cupcakes and a nice dinner but it nearly killed me.
Another lovely day for an engagement session. I met Tony and Alaine in Fort Langley and they were up for anything, so we did a little bit of everything.
Alaine, I love how you scrunch your nose when you laugh.
Fort Langley is full of little surprises if you poke around. Like this surprise. Bright doors, soft yellow distressed walls. YES!
Then we discovered this hidden treasure: a little courtyard with these fabulous iron gates. And the light was perfect.
Enjoy!

* The obsession with opening and closing the door phase. Combined with understanding how a step / stool can benefit him. Watch out.
* Open close open close open close.
* Stinker.
* It was my mom’s 65th birthday. She hosted a tea party with her friends. And I offered to bake a cake.
* A black forest cake with chocolate ganache. It was rich. And as usual, I somehow misread the recipe and I was scrambling up until the last minute icing the cake. Wanna see me stressed? Come over and watch me bake.
* Mattias = mischief.
* He enjoys puttering around in Noah’s room.
* Especially when Noah is occupied with other things.

ACK! I love that little face 🙂

Oh Karin Matthias is getting SO big! Too much time has passed since we had a coffee/walk visit, hopefully in September when we are in BC there will be time for one!
That cake looks amazing, I could use your talent with baking and decorating, I remember the cupcakes you made for Matthias’ one year party. SO CUTE!
Hope all is well! -
Mattias putters around a lot doesn’t he? ;)great pictures Karin!
It was a brilliant sunny and warm day for photos this past Saturday. My favorite kind of afternoon!
I have known Gary for a long time and we were thrilled when he met Karin. Together they are a fun-loving, lots of laughs and energetic couple. I had a blast hanging out and photographing you.
Looking forward to your wedding in August!!!

what a lovely session Karin. You captured so much love and happiness! 🙂
This little guy was such a gem. Mr. Laidback. He is the third boy in this lovely family. And his older brothers adore him too.
His name is Oliver. Or Ollie for short. Such a darling little hat for him.
I love some legs and feet and a baby. Really shows how little they are.
These kids were so much fun. They don’t have to ‘behave’ for me. They just have to be happy! And they were full of laughs and giggles.
These boys were all about their new brother. I wonder if Oliver will have red hair too.
Mom & dad are smitten with him too.
That pout melts me.
Some nursery time.
I was really digging this rug.
-
LOVE these Karin. What a little sweetie.
-
Lots of great photos! What a sweetie, love all the pics with his fun loving brothers as well. 🙂
-
I love these shots and this baby who I know! Great work Karin!
Rachel - so sweet! Love the one of Mattias with the stuffies 🙂 and sorry to hear you have been feeling so crappy! We got hit with that flu/cold a few weeks ago, and it’s a doozy! Hope you’re feeling better (oh, and belated happy bday to Art!)
Alicia Louwerse - I see glimpses of my boys in some of these shots 🙂
beplouwerse - Nice pitures again! Third picture looks like Art,cute to see him on the phone with Oma (Opa)
Maggie - Oh dear! We went through a similar sickness in Feb. It knocked the girls and I out for a week. The girls would sleep for 4 hours in the afternoon and then still go to bed around regular time. I could barely function for a good 3 or 4 days. We were all on anti-biotics for a week. It certainly kicked us all down for a good 10 days (except for John, who managed to take care of us all). Rest and lots of movies were the only things that worked that week.
Feel better soon!
Jacoba - I love that you photographed the favorite stuffies. I need to do that!
